Scouting
Our focus
As many of our Trustees and supporters are also Scout Leaders in the UK & Uganda we have developed in a number of links/areas of work between Scouts in the two countries.
We are working with the local Scout Groups to expand Scouting in the area.
We support the development of local Scouting in Mityana through the provision of training resources and camping equipment to the local Scout Groups.
We encourage the local Scouts to serve their local community and provide the means for them to do this. In the last year the local Scouts have redecorated the maternity unit at the local hospital on our behalf.
We provide First Aid Training and Health Education to all the local Scout Groups within Mityana District
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Donation are needed to pay District Scout fees, provide uniforms, purchase equipment, pay camp fees and pay for Leader training.

Adopting a Community School
We have adopted a small school on the outskirts of the town, a particularly impoverished area where up to 50%
Sponsoring a teacher
We have supported teachers at one of the secondary schools in Sekanyonyi sub-county – an hour’s drive north of Mityana.
Water Harvesting and Dormitories completed at the school
Thanks to the Rotary Clubs of Whitley Bay and Scunthorpe we have been able to virtually complete our water harvesting
