Education
Our focus
We have adopted a small school on the outskirts of the town, a particularly impoverished area where up to 50% of the children are H.I.V. positive.
We have provided the school with resources to improve the fabric of the building, a water tank (which benefits the whole community)
We support in the funding of teachers which means even if families are unable to pay their fees the school can continue to function.
Members of the charity have also spent time in the school teaching and enriching the curriculum through play.
We have built dormitories and provided beds for th Primary 7 pupils who board at the school during the year leading up to their SATs. These exams enable them to move onto high school.
Alongside delivering the lesson we give each child a pack containing a toothbrush, toothpaste and soap so they can practice the messages we have given. We call this area of work “Beat the Bugs, Stay Healthy”.
